Main Ingredients- 2 small button mushrooms
- 1/2 onion
- 3 pieces frozen beet (approx. kimchi dice size)
- Tteok (rice cakes, as desired, e.g., tteokbokki tteok or tteokguk tteok)
- 200ml milk
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 2 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 pinch salt
- A dash of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, soak the rice cakes in cold water for about 10 minutes to soften them. Slice the button mushrooms and onion into bite-sized pieces. In a pot or deep pan for the soup, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-low heat.

Once the butter is melted, add the sliced mushrooms to the pan and sauté over medium heat until they absorb the butter and become tender. This step helps to develop the mushroom’s flavor.

When the mushrooms release a delicious aroma and are tender, add the sliced onion and continue to sauté together. Cook until the onion becomes translucent.
