Quail Egg & Beet Curry Rice for Blood Clot Prevention
Nutrient-Rich Quail Egg and Beet Curry Rice: A Brunch Dish for Blood Clot Prevention
This curry rice is designed to be a complete meal, requiring no side dishes. I created it while searching for recipes rich in nitric oxide, which is beneficial for preventing blood clots, a growing health concern. It’s a delicious and healthy option for the whole family.
Main Ingredients- 150g quail eggs
- 130g cabbage
- 80g beetroot
- 1 piece butter
- 4 Tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 cup water (approx. 200ml)
- 5 cloves whole garlic
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare all ingredients. Wash the quail eggs. Chop the cabbage and beetroot into bite-sized pieces. Peel the whole garlic cloves.
Step 2
Melt about half of the butter (approx. 1/2 piece) in a heated pan over low heat. Gently melting it preserves its delicate aroma.
Step 3
Add the quail eggs to the melted butter and sauté for about 30 seconds. Lightly browning the eggs will add a richer, nuttier flavor.
Step 4
Add 2 tablespoons of avocado oil to the pan. First, sauté the whole garlic cloves until fragrant. Then, add the chopped cabbage and cook until it becomes translucent. The cabbage will sweeten and soften as it cooks. Temporarily turn off the heat once the cabbage is tender.
Step 5
Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of avocado oil to the same pan. Add the chopped beetroot and sauté just until it’s about 50% cooked. Be careful not to overcook the beetroot, as it can become mushy and its vibrant color may fade.
Step 6
Pour 1/2 cup (approx. 100ml) of water into a pot. Add all the sautéed ingredients—quail eggs, garlic, cabbage, and beetroot—and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Let the ingredients meld together as they cook.
Step 7
Once the mixture is boiling, dissolve the curry powder in a little water and add it to the pot. For a smooth consistency, you can mix the curry powder with water until no lumps remain before adding, or gradually whisk it into the boiling liquid.
Step 8
Continue to simmer until the curry thickens to your desired consistency. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Finally, drizzle in 1 teaspoon of sesame oil for added aroma, then turn off the heat to finish.
Step 9
Serve the finished curry generously over 1/2 a bowl of warm rice. For an extra touch of freshness, consider adding a few slices of apple on top. The apple’s crispness complements the richness of the curry.
