Quick and Delicious Smoked Duck and Chives Stir-fry
A Revitalizing Dish: Smoked Duck and Chives Stir-fry Recipe
These days are incredibly hot, with heatwave warnings issued nationwide, so you can imagine just how sweltering it is! When the weather is this scorching, it’s essential to enjoy hearty, nourishing meals to help beat the heat. I quickly stir-fried some smoked duck from my freezer with fresh chives to create this delicious dish. Since standing over the stove for too long can be tiring in this heat, I’ve opted for a simple version! Enjoy this flavorful and healthy meal that’s perfect for boosting your energy.
Ingredients
- 150g Smoked Duck, sliced into bite-sized pieces
- 1/4 Onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 bundle Chives, cut into 4-5cm lengths
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Place the smoked duck in a non-stick pan without adding any oil. Cook both sides until lightly browned to render out excess fat, making the duck more tender and less greasy.
Step 2
Continue to stir-fry the duck until it’s about 90% cooked through. Be careful not to overcook, as it can become tough.
Step 3
Using paper towels, carefully blot away any excess oil that has accumulated in the pan. Then, add the thinly sliced onion and stir-fry until the onion becomes translucent and releases its sweet aroma.
Step 4
Once the onions are nicely sautéed, add a generous amount of the cut chives. If you enjoy a bit of spice, you can add some chopped Korean chili peppers (cheongyang peppers) at this stage. If you prefer milder flavors, consider adding sliced Korean cucumber peppers. Stir-fry briefly until the chives are just wilted.
Step 5
Finally, add the oyster sauce and give everything a quick, vigorous stir-fry to combine all the ingredients. Your delicious Smoked Duck and Chives Stir-fry is ready! This dish is perfect as a side for rice or as a simple appetizer.
