Quick and Flavorful Chives Salad
The Perfect Side Dish for Grilled Meats: Simple and Delicious Chives Salad Recipe
Today, I found lean and savory Jeju pork ribs on sale at the supermarket! For lunch, I decided to grill them and pair them with this super simple chives salad instead of lettuce wraps. This recipe is incredibly easy and adds a refreshing, zesty flavor that perfectly complements rich meats, cutting through any greasiness and awakening your palate.
Main Ingredients- 1 bunch fresh chives (approx. 100g)
Seasoning Ingredients- 1/2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp vinegar
- 1.5 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- A pinch of sesame seeds
- 1/2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp vinegar
- 1.5 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- A pinch of sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, it’s crucial to prepare the chives properly. Rinse them thoroughly under running water 2-3 times. Make sure to wash them carefully to remove any dirt or debris. After rinsing, gently pat them dry or let them air dry briefly. Then, cut the chives into manageable lengths of about 4-5 cm. Cutting them to a suitable size will make them easier to eat.
Step 2
Now it’s time to season them deliciously. Place the cut chives in a large bowl. Add all the seasoning ingredients: 0.5 Tbsp sugar, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 2 Tbsp vinegar, 1.5 Tbsp gochugaru, and 1 Tbsp sesame oil. Gently toss the chives with your hands to ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed. Be careful not to mix too vigorously, as this can bruise the chives. A gentle toss is all you need.
Step 3
Finally, transfer the prepared chives salad to a nice serving plate. For an extra touch of flavor and aroma, sprinkle a generous amount of toasted sesame seeds on top. This simple chives salad is a fantastic accompaniment to freshly grilled meats or a warm bowl of rice. Give it a try – it’s incredibly delicious!
