Celebrating my new air fryer with this incredibly simple salmon steak recipe! Achieve a perfectly crispy exterior and a tender, flaky interior in just 20 minutes. This recipe is foolproof and guaranteed to impress!
Ingredients
- 300g Salmon fillet
- 1 Onion
- 1 Tbsp Herb salt
- 2 Tbsp Lemon juice
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, cut the salmon fillet into pieces slightly smaller than your palm. Slice the onion (1 whole) into 0.5cm thick rings. In a bowl, combine the salmon and onion. To tenderize the fish and prevent it from breaking apart, season with 1 Tbsp of herb salt and 2 Tbsp of lemon juice. Gently mix to coat evenly. Letting it marinate for about 5 minutes will enhance the flavor.
Step 2
Preheat your air fryer to 200℃ (392℉) for 3 minutes. Once preheated, carefully place the marinated salmon and onion slices into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Reduce the temperature to 180℃ (356℉) and set the timer for 15 minutes. This will begin the cooking process for a golden-brown finish.
Step 3
After 15 minutes, when the timer rings, carefully flip the salmon pieces. This ensures even cooking and a crispy texture on both sides. Return the basket to the air fryer and cook for an additional 10 minutes at 180℃ (356℉).
Step 4
When the final 10-minute timer sounds, your delicious salmon steak is ready! Serve immediately while warm. You’ve just created a restaurant-quality salmon steak at home – no fishy odor, just perfectly crispy outside and wonderfully moist inside. Enjoy your culinary success!
