Quick & Easy Butter-Fried Baby Corn Recipe
A Unique Delicacy! How to Make Flavorful Butter-Fried Baby Corn
A somewhat unfamiliar ingredient in Korean cuisine, baby corn is a popular staple in many foreign kitchens. While often found canned, it boasts a fresh flavor reminiscent of freshly harvested corn. Baby corn is actually harvested at a young stage of the corn plant, which is why it has a sweeter taste when cooked. Simply pan-frying it in butter creates a wonderful appetizer or a delightful snack for kids. Let’s get cooking!
Ingredients- 5 baby corn cobs (drain well if using canned)
- 1 Tbsp cooking oil
- 10g butter
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the baby corn. If using canned baby corn, it’s best to rinse them lightly under running water and drain them thoroughly. For fresh baby corn, trim the outer husks and silks, ensuring they are clean.
Step 2
Heat a frying pan over medium-low heat. Add 1 Tbsp of cooking oil, then add 10g of butter and let it melt. Once the butter is melted, add the prepared baby corn and sauté until lightly browned and fragrant. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the baby corn develops a nice golden hue and releases its sweet aroma.
Step 3
Once the baby corn is cooked through and looks appealing, season with a pinch of salt and a pinch of black pepper. Toss gently to combine. For an extra touch, you can sprinkle some dried parsley. This dish is best enjoyed immediately while warm!
