Main Ingredients

  • Warm cooked rice 221g
  • Ground beef 58g

  • Onion 36g (finely diced)
  • Zucchini 56g (finely diced)

Sauce Ingredients

  • Minced garlic 8g (approx. 1.5 tsp)
  • Oyster sauce 1.5 Tbsp
  • Sugar 1 tsp

Other

  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Cooking oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, thoroughly wash the yellow bell pepper, onion, and zucchini. Then, finely dice them into small pieces, about 0.5 cm in size. Preparing the vegetables in advance will help speed up the cooking process.

Step 1

Step 2

Gently pat the ground beef dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Then, finely mince the beef with a knife. You can leave some texture if you prefer, rather than mincing it into a paste.

Step 2

Step 3

Heat about 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a frying pan over high heat. Ensuring the pan is well-heated before adding ingredients is key to preventing excess moisture and developing great flavor.

Step 3

Step 4

Add the minced beef to the hot frying pan and quickly break it apart with your spatula.

Step 4

Step 5

Immediately sprinkle black pepper over the beef to help eliminate any gamey odors. Pepper enhances the beef’s natural flavor.

Step 5

Step 6

Stir and break up the beef with your spatula to prevent it from clumping. Sauté until the beef changes color from red to a deep gray, which should take about 2-3 minutes. Cooking quickly over high heat is important to seal in the juices.

Step 6

Step 7

Once the beef is mostly cooked, add all the finely diced vegetables (bell pepper, onion, zucchini) to the pan. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened and translucent.

Step 7

Step 8

Now, pour in the prepared sauce ingredients (minced garlic, oyster sauce, and sugar). Stir well to combine everything and cook for about 1 minute more. The savory aroma of the oyster sauce will be incredibly appetizing!

Step 8

Step 9

Finally, add the warm cooked rice to the pan. Stir everything together until the rice is well combined with the beef and vegetables. If the rice is clumped, break up the clumps as you stir.

Step 9

Step 10

Using a ladle can help stir the rice gently without mashing the grains, ensuring the sauce coats everything evenly. Continue to gently break apart the rice with your spatula as you stir. The goal is to coat each grain of rice with the delicious sauce.

Step 10

Step 11

Keep stirring with a wooden spatula, lightly separating the rice grains, until the pilaf is fluffy and not sticky. This should take about 1 more minute. Your delicious Beef Pilaf is now ready!

Step 11

Step 12

Transfer the finished Beef Pilaf into your favorite serving bowl. You can press it gently into the bowl to help shape it.

Step 12

Step 13

Next, carefully invert the bowl onto a plate and gently twist to release the pilaf. This will create a beautifully presented mound of pilaf.

Step 13

Step 14

Enjoy your impressive and delicious Beef Pilaf!
