Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare all the ingredients needed for this recipe. It’s incredibly simple, making it perfect for beginners! For a more filling and flavorful meal, you can also add some drained canned tuna or pre-cooked shredded chicken breast.
Step 2
Take a microwave-safe wide bowl or dish. Add 3 tablespoons of oatmeal to the bowl and mix in 2 pinches of salt for seasoning. This amount of salt is good if you plan to eat it with side dishes. As a general guideline, oatmeal is recommended in portions of about 40g per day, so avoid consuming excessive amounts.
Step 3
Crack 1 egg into the bowl with the oatmeal. Using a spoon or a whisk, gently break the yolk and mix it thoroughly with the oatmeal until well combined. Ensure there are no lumps for a smooth consistency.
Step 4
Now, pour in 100ml of water and stir everything together until it’s evenly mixed without any clumps. You can slightly adjust the amount of water depending on the type of oatmeal you’re using or your preferred porridge consistency.
Step 5
Place the mixed porridge ingredients in the microwave. To prevent overflowing, it’s best to microwave in 1-minute intervals, checking the consistency each time. I microwaved for a total of 3 minutes, but feel free to add 30-second increments if needed, checking periodically to see how the oatmeal thickens and the egg cooks.
Step 6
Once the microwaving is complete, the oatmeal will have softened and expanded, and the egg will be cooked through, forming a porridge consistency. Check to ensure the porridge is smooth and heated through.
Step 7
Carefully transfer the finished oatmeal egg porridge into a serving bowl. Finally, drizzle 1 teaspoon of perilla oil for a nutty aroma and sprinkle with sesame seeds for a delicious and satisfying oatmeal porridge. Enjoy it while it’s warm!
