Experience a unique yet simple ‘Ramyeon Pad Thai’ that’s perfect for a satisfying meal, featuring chewy noodles and a delightful medley of ingredients!
Main Ingredients- 80g Chicken breast
- 100g Imitation crab meat
- 80g Canned whelk (drained)
- 100g Onion (about 1/2 medium)
- 4 cloves Garlic
- 80g Bean sprouts
- 2 packs Ramyeon noodles
- 2 Eggs
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thinly slice the onion and thinly slice the garlic cloves. Preparing all ingredients beforehand will make the cooking process much smoother.
Step 2
Shred the chicken breast along the grain and tear the imitation crab meat into bite-sized pieces. Drain the canned whelk well and set aside.
Step 3
Cook the eggs according to your preference. If making fried eggs, preheat a pan over medium heat, add a generous amount of cooking oil, and fry the eggs to your desired doneness (sunny-side up or over-easy). Serving with a fried egg will add richness to the dish.
Step 4
Boil the two packs of ramyeon noodles in boiling water. Once the noodles are cooked to your liking, quickly rinse them under cold or ice water to cool them down. Drain them thoroughly in a colander. Briefly blanch the bean sprouts in boiling water to keep them crisp, then drain. (Be careful not to overcook the bean sprouts, or they will become mushy!)
Step 5
Heat a wide pan over medium-high heat and add a generous amount of cooking oil. Sauté the sliced onions and garlic until fragrant. Then, add the soy sauce and oyster sauce and stir-fry quickly, allowing the sauces to slightly caramelize. This ‘burning’ effect helps to develop a deeper flavor.
Step 6
Add the ramyeon soup powder to the pan and stir-fry again to ensure the powder dissolves and coats the ingredients evenly. Stir constantly to prevent the powder from burning and to help the seasoning meld with the ingredients.
Step 7
Add the prepared chicken breast, imitation crab meat, and whelk to the pan. Stir-fry with the sauce until the chicken and seafood are just cooked through.
Step 8
Add the drained ramyeon noodles and blanched bean sprouts to the pan. Toss everything together until the noodles and vegetables are evenly coated with the sauce. Avoid over-stirring to prevent the noodles from becoming soggy.
Step 9
Finally, sprinkle the sugar evenly over the dish to enhance the umami flavor, and drizzle with lemon juice for a touch of freshness. Gently toss to combine the sugar and lemon juice.
Step 10
Serve the finished Ramyeon Pad Thai on a plate and top with the prepared fried egg. Enjoy your delicious ‘Ramyeon Pad Thai’! You can also garnish with cilantro or crushed peanuts for extra flavor.
