Essential Ingredients- 1 serving of somyeon (thin wheat noodles)
- 3 cups (approx. 600ml) of dongchimi broth
- A little bit of dongchimi radish
Seasoning- 1/2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp vinegar
Optional Toppings- 1/5 cucumber
- 1/2 hard-boiled egg
- 1/2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp vinegar
Optional Toppings- 1/5 cucumber
- 1/2 hard-boiled egg
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the toppings: julienne the cucumber into thin strips and have your hard-boiled egg, halved, ready.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine the dongchimi broth with 1/2 Tbsp of sugar and 1 Tbsp of vinegar. Mix well. You can adjust the sugar and vinegar to your taste. For an extra refreshing chill, you can lightly freeze the broth beforehand.
Step 3
Cook the somyeon noodles according to package directions. Once cooked, rinse them thoroughly under cold running water to achieve a firm, chewy texture. Drain well.
Step 4
In a serving bowl, place the cooked somyeon noodles. Pour a generous amount of the prepared dongchimi broth over the noodles. Garnish with pieces of dongchimi radish, the julienned cucumber, and the halved hard-boiled egg. Your delicious Dongchimi Noodles are now ready to be enjoyed!
