Ingredients- 1/2 cucumber
- 1 lemon
- 500ml sparkling water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Before making your detox water, it’s essential to thoroughly wash your fruits and vegetables. Start by filling a bowl with water and adding 1-2 tablespoons of vinegar.
Step 2
Let the lemon and cucumber soak in the vinegar water for about 5 minutes. You can also sprinkle a little baking soda and gently scrub them for an extra clean. Since we’ll be using the lemon peel, ensure it’s exceptionally clean during this step!
Step 3
Place the cleaned lemon and cucumber on a cutting board. Because they will be submerged in water to infuse, slice them thinly for easier handling and better flavor release.
Step 4
We’ve now sliced the lemon and cucumber into bite-sized pieces. Next, we’ll carefully place these slices into your clean water bottle or pitcher.
Step 5
Add 1 whole lemon slice and half of the cucumber slice to your water bottle. Adding the entire cucumber can result in a strong, slightly bitter taste, so we highly recommend using only half! I personally learned this the hard way when I used a whole cucumber and couldn’t drink it due to the bitterness – I ended up having to discard it. Be sure to use only half a cucumber!
Step 6
Now, pour 500ml of chilled sparkling water over the prepared lemon and cucumber slices. While you can enjoy it immediately, letting it chill in the refrigerator for about a day will allow the flavors of the cucumber and lemon to fully infuse, creating a much richer and more delicious taste. We recommend refrigerating for up to 2 days for optimal freshness. After that, the quality may decrease.
