Refreshing Radish Canape Recipe
Make Delicious Radish Canapes: The Perfect Harmony of Mild Radish and Bread for a Delightful Brunch!
Radish is known for being easy to digest, right? Making canapes with radish and bread is perfect for brunch! ^^
Main Ingredients- 2 slices of radish (approx. 0.5cm thick)
- 1 tsp rice (or rice water)
- 100g tofu
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Wash the fresh radish thoroughly and slice it thinly, about 0.5cm thick. Cut each slice into 4 bite-sized pieces.
Step 2
To remove the radish’s slight bitterness and soften it, boil it in rice water. If you don’t have rice water, you can simply add 1 teaspoon of rice to the boiling water and cook. Ensure there’s enough water to fully submerge the radish slices. Boil over medium-low heat for about 10-15 minutes, or until the radish becomes translucent and tender. Drain the boiled radish well.
Step 3
Mash the tofu using the back of a knife until smooth. Season it with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of black pepper. This seasoned tofu will add a creamy and savory element to your canapes.
Step 4
Toast the bread slices until golden brown, either in a toaster or a dry pan. Crispy bread provides a wonderful base for the radish and tofu.
Step 5
Cut the toasted bread into 4 equal pieces each, creating the canape bases. Bite-sized pieces are perfect.

Spread a portion of the seasoned mashed tofu onto each piece of toasted bread. Then, carefully place a boiled radish slice on top of the tofu. Arrange them neatly to create appealing layers.
Step 7
Finally, garnish with a sprinkle of finely minced chili pepper (seeds removed) for a touch of heat and color, and a scattering of black sesame seeds for added texture and nutty flavor.
