Main Ingredients

  • 1 Grapefruit (peeled and segmented)
  • 5 Shine Muscat grapes (washed and halved)
  • 1 Tangerine (peeled and segmented)
  • 1 handful Lettuce (washed and dried)
  • 1 handful Blueberries (washed)

Zesty Dressing

  • 1 Tbsp Olive oil
  • 1/2 Tbsp Balsamic vinegar
  • 1 pinch Rock salt (or a pinch of regular salt)
  • 1/3 Tbsp Minced garlic (or a pinch of garlic powder)
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar (or honey, agave syrup, etc.)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, let’s prepare the star of our refreshing salad: the grapefruit. To easily peel the thick skin, cut off the top and bottom ends of the grapefruit. Then, using a paring knife, carefully cut along the curve of the fruit from top to bottom, following the shape of the grapefruit to remove the peel. Try to remove as much of the white pith as possible to reduce any bitterness.

Step 1

Step 2

To separate the grapefruit segments from the tough membrane, gently insert the tip of your knife into the center of the segment and carefully pry it open towards each side. This method allows you to easily release the juicy segments without crushing them, ensuring a clean presentation.

Step 2

Step 3

Wash the fresh lettuce leaves thoroughly under running water. It’s important to remove excess water so the dressing adheres well and the greens stay crisp. Using a salad spinner is highly recommended, or pat them dry meticulously with paper towels to achieve the best crunchy texture.

Step 3

Step 4

Wash the plump Shine Muscat grapes and cut them in half. Peel the tangerine and separate the segments. If there’s a white pithy core, remove it for a cleaner taste and appearance.

Step 4

Step 5

Arrange the dried lettuce leaves attractively on your serving plate, creating a fresh green base. Then, carefully place the prepared grapefruit segments on top of the lettuce, forming the main visual appeal of your salad.

Step 5

Step 6

Next, artfully arrange the halved Shine Muscat grapes, tangerine segments, and vibrant blueberries over the grapefruit. Feel free to substitute with any other seasonal fruits you have on hand, such as strawberries, kiwi, or oranges, to create your own unique and delicious salad variation!

Step 6

Step 7

Finally, let’s make the dressing! In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, rock salt (or regular salt), minced garlic, and sugar (or honey). Whisk everything together until the sugar is dissolved. Drizzle this delightful dressing over the salad just before serving. Enjoy your healthy and invigorating grapefruit salad!
