The Best Homemade Potato Soup Recipe: Simple Breakfast Dish (feat. NUC Hand Blender)
I made a simple potato soup using a hand blender 🙂 It was so smooth and savory, perfect for breakfast. ❤️
Ingredients- 2 medium potatoes
- 1 medium onion
- 400ml milk
- 1/2 Tbsp salt, or to taste
- 1 Tbsp butter
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Peel the 2 medium potatoes, cut them into manageable pieces, and boil them until fork-tender. Once cooked, drain them and mash while still warm. This ensures a smoother soup base.
Step 2
Thinly slice the 1 medium onion. Slicing it thinly will help it caramelize and soften beautifully when sautéed.
Step 3
In a pan, melt 1 Tbsp of butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they become translucent and fragrant, stirring occasionally. Be careful not to burn them. This step adds a wonderful depth of flavor.
Step 4
In a pot, combine the sautéed onions, the mashed boiled potatoes, and 400ml of milk. Use an immersion blender (like the NUC hand blender) to blend everything until completely smooth and creamy. Ensure there are no lumps for the best texture.
Step 5
Season the soup with salt, starting with 1/2 Tbsp and adding more to your preference. Gently heat the soup over low heat, stirring continuously to prevent sticking. Once it’s simmering, it’s ready to be served. Enjoy your delicious, homemade potato soup!
