Restaurant-Quality Creamy Tomato Spaghetti Made Easy with Jarred Sauce
How to Make Delicious Creamy Tomato Spaghetti Using Store-Bought Sauce
Let’s make delicious spaghetti even more flavorful using simple jarred sauce and pasta. This recipe will guide you to a satisfying meal with minimal effort.
Ingredients- 2 jars of store-bought spaghetti sauce (e.g., 1 tomato, 1 cream, or your preference)
- Spaghetti for 2 servings
- 1 fresh tomato
- 6 Vienna sausages
- 1/2 onion
- 3 cloves whole garlic
- 1 handful of fresh vegetables for garnish (e.g., parsley, baby greens)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
To elevate the dish and make it taste more restaurant-like, we’ll sauté ingredients like onion, tomato, and sausage to add into the store-bought sauce. This step truly enhances the depth of flavor.
Step 2
First, heat 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a large frying pan over low heat. Instead of using minced garlic, thinly slice the 3 whole garlic cloves and sauté them slowly until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic; cooking until it turns golden brown is key.
Step 3
Slice the 1/2 onion into strips. Add the sliced onion to the pan with the oil and sauté over medium-low heat until translucent. Sautéing until the onion’s natural sweetness is released will make the sauce even more delicious.
Step 4
Slice the 6 Vienna sausages into bite-sized pieces (about 1-1.5 cm thick). Add the sliced sausages to the pan with the sautéing onions and garlic, and cook together. Sauté until the sausage skins are lightly browned for added flavor.
Step 5
Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti for 2 servings in plenty of boiling water according to package directions. Once the pasta is al dente, drain it well. (Tip: Reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta water; it can be useful later for adjusting the sauce consistency.) Add the drained spaghetti to the pan with the sautéed vegetables and sausages, and toss to combine. (I’m using two pans simultaneously as I’m preparing two types of sauce, but you can do this all in one pan.)
Step 6
Now it’s time to add the sauces. Pour the tomato spaghetti sauce into one pan and the cream spaghetti sauce into the other. (If you’re mixing both sauces beforehand, add them together now.)
Step 7
Gently toss everything together to allow the sauce to coat the pasta and vegetables evenly. Since the pasta is already cooked, over-sautéing can make it mushy or cause the sauce to stick to the pan. Toss quickly and lightly, just enough to combine everything. If needed, add a little of the reserved pasta water to achieve the desired sauce consistency.
Step 8
Finally, add the 1 fresh tomato, cut into large pieces, and toss a couple more times. Turn off the heat and garnish with fresh vegetables (like parsley or baby greens). Your elegant, restaurant-style creamy tomato spaghetti is ready! Enjoy a taste that rivals your favorite Italian restaurant, right in your own kitchen.
