The Epitome of Home Cooking! A Quick and Easy Recipe for Restaurant-Style Beef Brisket Doenjang Jjigae Using Dadam Refrigerated Doenjang Seasoning
When your kids get hungry every two hours, here’s a simple yet delicious home-cooked meal you can whip up in a flash! Introducing a beef brisket doenjang jjigae with a wonderfully deep broth flavor.
Essential Ingredients- 1 packet Dadam Jjigae Seasoning
- 1 block firm tofu (cut into neat cubes)
- 1/3 stalk green onion (chopped)
- A handful of chives (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 red chili pepper (seeds removed, thinly sliced)
- 1/2 onion (sliced)
- A handful of beef (shabu-shabu cut or brisket)
- 400ml rice water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Originally, I planned a simple lunch with napa cabbage, bean sprouts, and shabu-shabu beef. However, due to my son’s request, I changed the menu on the spot. Switching to a tofu doenjang jjigae, which everyone loves, made both my daughter and son happy.
Step 2
Even a beginner cook can make a fantastic doenjang jjigae with this product. It’s incredibly convenient for when you want something special, rather than an everyday meal. My son ate two bowls of rice with plenty of tofu in this jjigae! It tastes great even when you use up leftover vegetables from the fridge.
Step 3
To add depth to the doenjang jjigae, prepare 400ml of rice water. In a pot, combine the rice water and Dadam Jjigae Seasoning and bring to a boil over high heat. Once the broth is boiling vigorously, add the prepared sliced onion.
Step 4
Once the onion is slightly softened, add the cubed tofu and beef, and let it simmer. The bubbling sound and delicious aroma will make your mouth water. Cook for about 5 more minutes until all ingredients are well combined, and your flavorful doenjang jjigae is ready. If you use beef brisket, you’ll get a richer, more robust flavor, while shabu-shabu beef results in a lighter, cleaner taste. Choose according to your preference.
Step 5
While the jjigae is simmering, skim off any foam that rises to the surface. This step will result in a cleaner and more profound broth flavor. It’s a thoughtful touch!
Step 6
Finally, add the chopped green onions, chives, and thinly sliced red chili peppers. Simmer for just about 1 more minute. The fresh aroma of the vegetables will enhance the flavor. Turn off the heat and enjoy!
Step 7
Doenjang jjigae is a staple we eat at least once a week! Today, thanks to the convenient seasoning packet, I made it so much easier. Not having to adjust the seasoning separately makes it incredibly effortless. When you’re craving restaurant-quality doenjang jjigae at home, try this recipe. You’ll be able to prepare a satisfying meal that the whole family will enjoy.
