Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Preheat a pan over medium heat. Add 100ml of milk and 4 Tbsp of sugar, then stir over low heat until combined. (Tip: Add the milk first to prevent the sugar from clumping. If the milk boils vigorously, it might stick to the pan, so keep the heat on low while stirring.)
Step 2
Once the sugar has dissolved into the milk, add a generous 3 Tbsp of peanut butter. Stir continuously over low heat until it reaches a smooth, sauce-like consistency. (How to check consistency: If you scrape the bottom of the pan with a spoon and a line forms that slowly fills back in, it’s ready.)
Step 3
Turn off the heat. While the pan is still warm, add a generous 3 Tbsp of mayonnaise and stir quickly using the residual heat until well combined. This will create your delicious peanut mayo jam.
Step 4
Fry one egg as you would for a sunny-side-up or over-easy preparation, breaking the yolk. This will be a key component of your sandwich.
Step 5
Take two slices of bread and spread a generous amount of the peanut mayo jam on each. Layer with 3 slices of ham, 2 slices of cheddar cheese, and the prepared fried egg. Assemble the sandwich.
Step 6
Trim the crusts off the bread, then cut the sandwich diagonally in half. Your delicious Peanut Mayo Sandwich is now ready to enjoy!
