Saesongi Mushroom and Beef Curry Stir-Fry
Super Simple! A Nutritious One-Bowl Side Dish Even for Cooking Beginners: Saesongi Mushroom and Beef Curry Stir-Fry
I spotted a great sale on Saesongi mushrooms and bought a whole box! Today, I’m sharing the first recipe in a series of easy Saesongi mushroom dishes, made with some ground beef from my freezer. Using minimal ingredients, you can whip up a delicious meal incredibly fast, perfect for busy days. It’s fantastic as a side dish or served over rice!
Ingredients- 4 large Saesongi mushrooms
- 400-500g ground beef
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 8 Tbsp curry powder
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare four large Saesongi mushrooms. Slice them thinly lengthwise, then into strips like julienning. Finally, turn the strips 90 degrees and chop them into small, thumbnail-sized pieces. This ensures the seasoning is evenly distributed and enhances the flavor.
Step 2
If your ground beef was frozen, thaw it first. Spread the thawed ground beef in a heated frying pan. Add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic. Turn the heat to medium and stir-fry, breaking up the meat with a spatula as it cooks.
Step 3
Continue to stir-fry until the beef is fully cooked and has turned a rich brown color. This step also helps to remove any gamey smell and develop a deeper flavor.
Step 4
Once the beef is cooked, add all the prepared Saesongi mushrooms to the pan. Stir-fry them together with the beef until the mushrooms have softened slightly.
Step 5
As you stir-fry, juices and oil from the beef, along with moisture from the mushrooms, will accumulate in the pan. Continue cooking for a short while to allow these delicious flavors to meld together.
Step 6
Now it’s time to add the curry powder. Sprinkle 8 tablespoons of curry powder evenly over the ingredients. Reduce the heat to low. Be careful not to burn the curry powder by cooking over high heat.
Step 7
As the curry powder absorbs the moisture, the stir-fry will start to thicken and become less wet. Once it reaches your desired consistency and the excess moisture has evaporated, turn off the heat. Avoid overcooking, as it can become dry. It’s important to monitor the texture.
Step 8
Serve a generous portion over warm rice and mix well for an incredibly delicious meal! This simple yet satisfying dish is complete. The chewy texture of the Saesongi mushrooms and the rich curry flavor create a fantastic harmony.
