Main Ingredients

  • 260g Sipunculid worm (Totnamul)
  • 130g Radish (Mu)

Seasoning Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp Double-strength vinegar
  • 1/3 Tbsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1/2 Tbsp Toasted sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Using scissors, cut the cleaned sipunculid worm into bite-sized pieces (about 3-4 cm). Then, place the cut sipunculid worm in a bowl of cold water and gently knead and rinse it several times to remove any debris and ensure it’s thoroughly clean.

Step 1

Step 2

Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil. Add the rinsed sipunculid worm and blanch it for a very short time, about 15-20 seconds. Be careful not to overcook it, as it can become mushy. Immediately after blanching, rinse the sipunculid worm under cold running water to cool it down. Drain it well in a colander, or gently squeeze out excess water with your hands.

Step 2

Step 3

Peel the radish and julienne it as thinly as possible. Thinly sliced radish will help the ingredients and dressing meld together beautifully and contribute to a pleasant texture. If julienning is difficult, you can also grate it.

Step 3

Step 4

In a separate bowl, combine the double-strength vinegar, salt, and sugar. Stir well until the sugar and salt are completely dissolved, creating your zesty dressing. Using double-strength vinegar will provide a more pronounced tangy flavor compared to regular vinegar.

Step 4

Step 5

Place the thoroughly drained sipunculid worm and the thinly sliced radish into a large mixing bowl. Pour the prepared tangy-sweet dressing over the ingredients and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds. Gently toss everything together with your hands until well combined and the dressing evenly coats the sipunculid worm and radish. Your delicious Totnamul Muchim is now ready to serve!
