A Healthy Red Cabbage Pancake Recipe with Beautiful Colors
Introducing a delicious red cabbage pancake with an excellent crisp texture and savory flavor. It’s easy to make using fresh red cabbage and regular cabbage, and you can enjoy a more diverse taste by adding mayonnaise, tonkatsu sauce, or ketchup to your liking. It’s perfect as a snack for kids or a simple accompaniment to drinks!
Main Ingredients- Red cabbage 200g (approx. 1/4 head)
- Cabbage 100g (approx. 1/8 head)
- Salt 1 tsp
- Cornstarch 4 Tbsp
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Wash the red cabbage thoroughly, pat it dry, and then shred it thinly. Shredding thinly will make the pancake softer and tastier.
Step 2
Similarly, wash the regular cabbage, remove excess water, and then shred it to a similar thickness as the red cabbage.
Step 3
Lightly rinse the shredded red cabbage and cabbage in cold water. Be careful not to rinse for too long, as this can reduce their crispiness.
Step 4
It’s important to drain the water from the rinsed vegetables thoroughly using a colander. If there’s too much water, the batter might become too loose.
Step 5
Place the drained shredded vegetables in a large bowl. The preparation for making delicious pancakes is almost complete!
Step 6
Add 1 tsp of salt and 4 Tbsp of cornstarch to the vegetables in the bowl and mix well. The key is to gently mix so that the starch evenly coats the vegetables.
Step 7
Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a pan over high heat. Spoon portions of the batter into the hot pan and fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides. Adjust the heat to prevent burning. Enjoy your delicious red cabbage pancakes!
