Main Ingredients
- 2 large potatoes
- 1 slice of American cheese
- 1 Tbsp nacho cheese sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or pizza cheese)
- 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the potatoes thoroughly and peel them. Cut them into bite-sized pieces, about 1cm thick. Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for about 10 minutes to remove excess starch, which will help them become crispier when fried. Pat the potatoes completely dry with paper towels. Pour enough vegetable oil into a pan to generously cover the potatoes and heat it to about 170°C (340°F). Carefully add the potatoes to the hot oil and fry over medium heat until golden brown and crispy. Stir occasionally to prevent them from sticking together. Once the fries are cooked through and have a nice crisp texture, remove them with a slotted spoon and drain any excess oil on paper towels.
Step 2
Arrange the hot, drained fries attractively on a serving plate. While they are still warm, sprinkle a little salt and black pepper to season them. Next, dollop the nacho cheese sauce sporadically over the fries. You can adjust the amount of sauce to your preference.
Step 3
Generously sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the nacho cheese sauce. Tear or cut the slice of American cheese into smaller pieces and artfully place them on top of the mozzarella. Finish with a sprinkle of dried parsley for a beautiful presentation. Now, place the plate in the microwave and heat for about 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and gooey. Your delicious Outback Cheese Fries are ready to be enjoyed!
