Savory Bacon-Wrapped Sandwiches
Kid-Approved Bacon-Wrapped Sandwich Recipe
A sandwich crafted to satisfy the palates of our meat-loving children! This delightful creation combines crispy bacon, a soft egg crepe, and sweet strawberry jam, making it a hit with both kids and adults.
Sandwich Ingredients- 6 slices of bread (you can substitute with whole wheat or brioche bread)
- 12 strips of bacon (thicker bacon strips will yield a richer flavor)
- 2 eggs
- 6 slices of cheese (feel free to use cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite cheese)
- 30cc milk (about 2 tablespoons)
- Strawberry jam, to taste (blueberry or raspberry jam can also be used)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the egg crepe. Crack 2 eggs into a bowl and add 30cc (about 2 tablespoons) of milk. Adding milk will make the egg crepe extra soft and moist. Whisk them well with a fork or whisk. Heat a pan over low heat, pour the egg mixture thinly, and cook until golden brown on both sides. Once cooked, let the crepe cool slightly before cutting it into sandwich-sized pieces.
Step 2
Next, we’ll prepare the fillings. Trim the crusts off the bread slices and cut each slice into 4 equal pieces. Cut each slice of cheese into 2 pieces. Preparing the ingredients in advance will make the sandwich assembly much smoother.
Step 3
Now, let’s assemble the sandwiches! On one piece of bread, place a slice of cheese, followed by the prepared egg crepe. Spread a generous amount of strawberry jam over the egg crepe for a touch of sweetness. Finally, lay 2 strips of bacon in a cross shape on top of the bread, then fold the remaining bread over to enclose the fillings. Wrap the bacon strips firmly around the sandwich to hold everything together.
Step 4
Finally, we’ll grill the bacon-wrapped sandwiches until golden brown. Heat a pan over low heat and place the sandwiches in the pan. Gently turn them to cook all four sides until the bacon is crispy and the bread is toasted. Be careful to ensure the sandwiches don’t come apart while cooking. Use tongs to carefully turn them. Be cautious as they will be hot!
