- 1/2 tsp Chopped Scallion
Basil Fried Rice
- 200g Cooked Rice
- 1/4 Red Bell Pepper
- 1/4 Yellow Bell Pepper
- 5g Celery
- 1 clove Garlic
- Fresh Basil Leaves (to taste)
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 200g Cooked Rice
- 1/4 Red Bell Pepper
- 1/4 Yellow Bell Pepper
- 5g Celery
- 1 clove Garlic
- Fresh Basil Leaves (to taste)
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the marinade for the pork ribs. In a bowl, combine 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp port wine (or red wine), 1 tsp sesame oil, 1/2 tsp minced garlic, and 1/2 tsp chopped scallion. Mix them well until the seasoning is evenly blended.
Step 2
Prepare the pork rib meat by cutting it into bite-sized pieces. Place the cut meat into the prepared marinade and gently massage it in. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. For an even deeper flavor, you can marinate it for up to an hour.
Step 3
Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated pork ribs and cook until nicely browned. Be careful not to cook over high heat for too long, as the marinade can burn. Adjust the heat as needed to ensure even cooking. The juices and marinade that render will create a delicious sauce.
Step 4
Now, let’s prepare the vegetables for the fried rice. Remove the seeds from the red and yellow bell peppers, and wash the celery. Dice the bell peppers and celery into small cubes, about 5mm in size. Finely dicing the vegetables will help them integrate well into the fried rice.
Step 5
Finely mince the garlic clove. For the fresh basil, it’s best to chop it slightly coarsely rather than mincing it too finely, to preserve its aromatic quality. The fragrant aroma of fresh basil will elevate the flavor of the fried rice.
Step 6
Heat a clean pan over medium heat. Add the diced bell peppers, celery, and minced garlic, and sauté until fragrant. Once the vegetables start to become slightly translucent, add the 200g of cooked rice. Stir in 1 Tbsp oyster sauce and 1 Tbsp soy sauce, and stir-fry until the rice is fluffy and well-coated.
Step 7
When the rice is well-fried and starting to look slightly crisp around the edges, add the coarsely chopped fresh basil. Stir it in quickly and gently. Basil loses its aroma if cooked for too long, so adding it at the very end and mixing lightly is key. Just stir enough to distribute the fresh basil scent throughout the rice.
Step 8
Transfer the finished basil fried rice to a serving plate, arranging it attractively. Then, generously top the fried rice with the delicious, freshly cooked marinated pork ribs. This creates a visually appealing and flavorful main dish.
Step 9
Finally, garnish with a few fresh basil leaves on top to complete your Savory Basil Fried Rice with Marinated Pork Ribs! This dish is perfect for a special meal, so enjoy creating a memorable dining experience!
