Main Ingredients

  • 300g beef (bulgogi-cut, patted dry with paper towels to remove excess blood)
  • 200g bean sprouts (rinsed thoroughly under running water)
  • 5 leaves napa kimchi (seeds removed, finely chopped)
  • 2.5 servings rice (washed and soaked for 30 minutes)

Seasoning

  • 1/3 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/3 Tbsp salt

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Prepare 300g of bulgogi-cut beef. Use paper towels to gently pat and remove any excess blood. This step is crucial for a clean flavor without gamey notes.

Step 1

Step 2

Marinate the beef for seasoning. To prevent the rice from becoming mushy, we’ll use salt for seasoning. In a bowl, combine the beef with 1/3 Tbsp sesame oil and 1/3 Tbsp salt. Gently mix and knead until well combined. This marination will tenderize the beef.

Step 2

Step 3

Prepare 2.5 servings of rice. Wash the rice thoroughly and let it soak in water for about 30 minutes. Drain the soaked rice and transfer it to the inner pot of your electric pressure cooker. Soaking the rice helps it cook up fluffy and delicious.

Step 3

Step 4

Evenly spread the rinsed 200g of bean sprouts over the soaked rice in the pot. The moisture released from the bean sprouts as they cook will add wonderful flavor to the rice.

Step 4

Step 5

Next, layer the marinated beef on top of the bean sprouts. This allows the rich flavor of the beef to infuse throughout the entire dish.

Step 5

Step 6

For the kimchi, first remove the seeds and finely chop the 5 leaves of napa kimchi. Squeeze out excess liquid from the chopped kimchi, then toss it with a little sesame oil. Press the seasoned kimchi down firmly on top of the beef. The tangy kimchi will add a delightful depth of flavor to the rice.

Step 6

Step 7

Now it’s time to cook the rice. Select the ‘White Rice High Pressure’ setting on your electric pressure cooker and start cooking. For my pressure cooker, this typically takes about 27 minutes. A wonderful aroma will soon fill your kitchen! Your delicious Beef, Kimchi, and Bean Sprout Rice is ready. Open the lid and enjoy mixing everything together before serving!
