Main Ingredients- Fried Tofu Pockets (Inari Age) 14 pcs
- Onion 1/4 pc
- Imitation Crab Sticks (Kani Kama) 7 pcs
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, finely mince 1/4 of the onion. It’s important to mince it very finely so it doesn’t affect the texture. For a milder flavor, you can soak the minced onion in cold water for about 10 minutes, then drain it thoroughly before use.
Step 2
Gently rinse the 14 fried tofu pockets (inari age) under running water. Lightly squeeze them with your hands to remove excess oil and liquid from inside. Be careful not to squeeze too hard, as they might tear.
Step 3
Prepare 1 bowl (about 200g) of warm cooked rice. Add the vinegar seasoning and flakes from the inari sushi kit. Using a spatula or spoon, gently mix the rice, being careful not to mash the grains. It’s best to mix when the rice is slightly cooled, as very hot rice can clump.
Step 4
Prepare the 7 imitation crab sticks. Shred them finely with your hands. In a bowl, combine the shredded crab sticks with 5 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of mustard, and a pinch of pepper. Mix well until evenly combined. You can also add the minced onion here for an extra layer of flavor.
Step 5
Fill each prepared fried tofu pocket with about two-thirds of the seasoned rice. Don’t overfill with rice, as it will make it easier to add the crab mixture. Generously top the rice with the crab mixture you prepared in step 3. Alternatively, you can mix the crab into the rice before filling, or top with extra crab after filling.
