Main Ingredients
  • 4 Tortillas
  • 4 strips Bacon
  • 4 Vienna sausages
  • 1/4 Onion
  • 150g Mozzarella cheese
  • 1.5 bowls Cooked rice (warm)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the ingredients for the fried rice. Slice the 4 strips of bacon into about 1cm wide strips. Slice the 4 Vienna sausages into bite-sized pieces, and finely chop the 1/4 onion.

Step 2

Melt 2 Tbsp of butter in a pan over medium-low heat. Once the butter is melted, add the chopped onion and increase the heat to medium, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant.

Step 3

When the onion is softened, add the sliced bacon and Vienna sausages. Stir-fry them together until the bacon renders its fat and the ingredients turn golden brown. Cook until everything is nicely browned.

Step 4

Now, add 1.5 bowls of warm cooked rice to the sautéed ingredients and mix well. Stir-fry the rice until it’s fluffy and each grain is coated with the sauce. It’s best to break up any clumps of rice with a spatula while stir-frying to ensure an even texture.

Step 5

Add 3 Tbsp of chili sauce to the fried rice and stir-fry until the sauce is well incorporated and everything is nicely seasoned. If you prefer, you can add a pinch of salt or black pepper to adjust the taste to your liking.

Step 6

Lay one tortilla flat. Spoon the fried rice onto one half of the tortilla, piling it generously. Sprinkle a good amount of mozzarella cheese over the fried rice. Then, fold the other half of the tortilla over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Make sure to seal the edges well to prevent the cheese from oozing out.

Step 7

Heat a pan over medium heat. Carefully place the assembled quesadilla into the hot pan, ensuring the side with the cheese filling faces down first. This helps the cheese melt and the tortilla adhere to the pan. Cook until the bottom side is golden brown and crispy, then flip it over to cook the other side until equally golden brown. Keep an eye on the heat to prevent burning.

Step 8

Once beautifully golden brown, cut the quesadilla into your desired serving sizes (e.g., halves or quarters). Arrange them on a plate. For an extra touch of flavor and visual appeal, drizzle mayonnaise and ketchup in a zigzag pattern over the top. Enjoy your delicious, warm quesadillas immediately!
