Savory Pan-Fried Tofu with Pickled Condiment Sauce
Easy Tofu Side Dish Hack: Quick Pan-Fried Tofu Elevated with Pickled Condiment
This recipe utilizes pickled condiment (jangajji) brine for a flavorful tofu dish without needing to make a separate sauce or simmer it. It’s a super simple way to make delicious tofu.
Main Ingredients- 1 block Tofu (approx. 300-350g)
- Generous amount of brown rice oil or cooking oil
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Pat the tofu dry with paper towels and then slice it into thick pieces, about 1.5cm thick. This helps prevent it from breaking apart when pan-frying and gives it a better texture. Lightly season both sides of the sliced tofu with salt and pepper.
Step 2
Heat a pan over medium heat and add a generous amount of brown rice oil. Place the seasoned tofu slices in the pan and fry them until golden brown and slightly crispy on both sides. This creates a delicious contrast between the crispy exterior and the soft interior. Letting it cool slightly will make it firmer.
Step 3
Arrange the beautifully pan-fried tofu on a serving plate. Adding your favorite pickled vegetables on top elevates this dish wonderfully. You can even pour a generous amount of the pickled condiment brine over the tofu, which infuses it with a delightful savory flavor, making it incredibly delicious. Any type of pickled vegetable or its brine works perfectly!
