Hello everyone! Today, we’re going to make a simple yet incredibly delicious scallion salad that pairs wonderfully with any grilled meat. Its refreshing crunch and savory flavor are truly irresistible!

First, wash the scallions thoroughly. We’ll be using both the white and green parts. Slice the scallions thinly into about 0.5cm thick strips. It’s important to get the thickness right – too thick and the dressing won’t penetrate well, too thin and they might become soggy too quickly.

Place the sliced scallions into a mixing bowl. Now, let’s add all the seasoning ingredients. Add 1 tablespoon of fish sauce, 1 teaspoon of gochugaru, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, and finally, a pinch of toasted sesame seeds for a wonderful nutty aroma and flavor. The fish sauce adds umami and cuts through any potential raw oniony taste, while the sugar balances the flavors.
