How to Make Delicious Soy Sauce Butter Pasta at Home

Ingredients- 2 servings pasta (approx. 200g)
- 3 strips bacon (approx. 100g)
- 1/2 stalk green onion (scallion)
- 5 dried chili peppers (peperoncino)
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic (approx. 15g)
- 40g unsalted butter
- 1.5 Tbsp soy sauce (approx. 20ml)
- Olive oil, as needed
- Pinch of salt
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the ingredients that will add flavor to your pasta. Finely chop the dried chili peppers (peperoncino) after removing the seeds. If you like it spicier, you can leave the seeds in. Wash the green onion, then cut it into four pieces crosswise and finely chop it. Cut the bacon into bite-sized pieces (about 1-2 cm). Set everything aside.
Step 2
Add about 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil to a frying pan and heat it over medium-low heat. Gently tilt the pan to ensure the olive oil coats the surface evenly.
Step 3
Once the pan is warm, add the minced garlic, chopped bacon, and finely chopped dried chili peppers. Sauté, stirring constantly, until the bacon is golden brown and aromatic. Be careful not to burn the garlic by managing the heat. The peperoncino will infuse the oil with a spicy aroma.
Step 4
While the bacon is cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta. Cook the pasta for 1-2 minutes less than the time indicated on the package for ‘al dente’ texture. This ensures the pasta will finish cooking perfectly in the pan with the sauce. Reserve about 1 ladleful of the pasta cooking water.
Step 5
When the bacon, garlic, and chili peppers are nicely sautéed, add the drained pasta directly to the pan. Stir in 1 ladleful of the reserved pasta water, 40g of butter for a rich, creamy flavor, 1.5 tablespoons of soy sauce for saltiness, and a pinch of salt to adjust the seasoning. Toss everything together over medium-high heat until the sauce thickens and coats the pasta beautifully. Your delicious soy sauce butter pasta is ready!
