Simple Picnic Lunch: Tuna and Egg Rice Ball Recipe
A delightful combination of tender rice, rich tuna, and fluffy egg! These rice balls are a guaranteed hit with both kids and adults.
Ingredients- 1 bowl of freshly cooked warm rice
- 1 can (approx. 100g) of drained tuna
- 2 fresh eggs
- 3 pinches of fine salt
- A pinch of black pepper (about 1/2 tbsp)
- 1/4 stalk of green onion (white part preferred)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thinly slice the green onion for added flavor after washing and drying it thoroughly. In a separate bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them well with a fork or whisk until smooth to create an egg batter.
Step 2
In a large bowl, place the warm rice. Add the drained tuna and the sliced green onion. Season with 3 pinches of salt and a pinch of pepper. Mix everything together thoroughly with a spatula or your hands until well combined. Then, shape the mixture into neat, bite-sized round balls.
Step 3
Dip each rice ball into the prepared egg batter, ensuring it’s evenly coated on all sides. Heat a frying pan over medium-low heat and add a generous amount of cooking oil. Carefully place the egg-coated rice balls into the pan and cook, flipping occasionally, until they are golden brown and beautifully cooked on both sides. Your delicious tuna and egg rice balls are now ready!
