Seafood Ramen Inspired by ‘Revenge Note’

Recreating Ra Mi-ran’s Delicious Seafood Ramen from ‘Revenge Note’! A Nutritious Dish for Solo Diners.

Seafood Ramen Inspired by 'Revenge Note'

Have you watched the drama ‘Revenge Note’ (also known as ‘Woman of Dignity’ or ‘Uam-dong Avengers’)? I tried making the delicious seafood ramen that Ra Mi-ran’s son cooked in the show. Typically, seafood and vegetables are added when the noodles are almost done. However, in this drama, they seem to sauté mussels and onions first, so I gave that a try. And oh my, it was incredibly delicious! This recipe is perfect for solo diners looking for a nutritious and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pack Ramen noodles
  • 100g Mussels (shelled)
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 400ml Water (approx. 2 cups)
  • 1 Egg
  • A little Coconut oil or cooking oil (optional)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Unlike regular ramen, this recipe starts by sautéing the seafood and vegetables to bring out their flavors. Prepare fresh mussels and thinly sliced onion. If you have coconut oil, a light sauté can add a wonderful exotic aroma, but regular cooking oil works perfectly fine too.

Step 1

Step 2

Heat a pan over medium heat. Add the mussels and sliced onion. Sauté the onion until it becomes translucent, and then continue cooking until it develops a slightly caramelized color for enhanced sweetness. Be careful not to overcook the mussels, as they can become tough; sauté them just until the onion is tender.

Step 2

Step 3

Once the vegetables and mussels are nicely sautéed, pour in 400ml of water and bring it to a boil. You can adjust the amount of water based on the type of ramen or your personal preference. You might wonder about the taste resulting from this sautéing step, but trust me, it’s remarkably delicious!

Step 3

Step 4

When the water boils, add the ramen soup packet and stir to dissolve. Then, add the ramen noodles and cook according to the package instructions. While the noodles are cooking, the flavors will meld together beautifully. Finally, crack an egg into the boiling broth.

Step 4

Step 5

You can whisk the egg into the broth or let it poach gently for a soft-boiled effect. Using pre-shelled mussels is convenient, but if you want to showcase the mussels whole, consider using them with shells on for a more visually appealing presentation during the sautéing stage.

Step 5

Step 6

The finished seafood ramen is wonderful on its own. For an extra treat, try dipping the noodles and mussels into the runny yolk of the poached egg for a richer, creamier taste. It’s simple, yet the harmonious blend of ingredients creates an exceptional ramen experience.

Step 7

So, even if you’re dining alone, don’t just cook ramen straight from the packet. Try making this special ‘gourmet seafood ramen’ with simple ingredients for a delightful meal. You can enjoy restaurant-quality ramen right at home!
