Seriously Delicious Pork Belly Ramen
Fill Your Kitchen with Aroma! Enjoy a Special Meal with Pork Belly Ramen.
Today, I’m sharing a special ramen recipe: ‘Pork Belly Ramen,’ a favorite among many! While plain ramen is delicious on its own, adding rich ingredients like pork belly elevates the flavor profile, making it spicy and deeply savory with the essence of the meat. Let’s create a special bowl of ramen with a simple recipe!
Ingredients
- 1 packet of ramen noodles
- 1 strip of pork belly (approx. 100g)
- 10cm segment of green onion
- 1 handful of bean sprouts (approx. 50g)
- 3 perilla leaves
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare your vegetables. Finely chop the 10cm segment of green onion. Wash and thinly slice the perilla leaves. Lightly rinse the bean sprouts under running water and drain.
Step 2
Prepare 1 strip of pork belly (about 100g). Place the pork belly in a frying pan and cook over medium heat until golden brown on both sides. You can dab away excess oil with a paper towel as it cooks for a cleaner result.
Step 3
In the ramen pot, add 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Add the chopped green onion and 1 tablespoon of minced garlic. Sauté over low heat until the green onion becomes translucent and fragrant, creating ‘green onion oil’.
Step 4
Once the green onion aroma is prominent, add 1 tablespoon of red pepper flakes and stir-fry quickly for about 30 seconds to mellow any bitterness. Then, add the ramen soup base and stir-fry for another minute, being careful not to burn, to enhance the flavors.
Step 5
Pour 500ml (about 2.5 cups) of water into the pot with the sautéed ingredients and bring to a boil over high heat. Wait until the broth is vigorously bubbling.
Step 6
Once the broth boils, add the ramen noodles and the dried vegetable packet. Gently loosen the noodles to prevent clumping. Reduce the heat to medium as the noodles begin to cook.
Step 7
When the noodles are almost cooked (after about 2 more minutes of boiling), arrange the pre-cooked pork belly, sliced perilla leaves, and bean sprouts attractively on top. Continue to boil for just 30 seconds over high heat. Your delicious Pork Belly Ramen, with the fresh taste of ingredients, is now complete!
