Key Ingredients- 2 Tortillas
- 4 Tbsp Sesame Seeds
- 4 Tbsp Black Sesame Seeds
- 2 Tbsp Oligodang (Corn Syrup)
- A pinch of Salt
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the sesame and black sesame seeds that will add a savory flavor. Using a blender or food processor, combine both types of whole seeds and pulse a few times. The key is to grind them coarsely, leaving some texture rather than making a fine powder.
Step 2
In a bowl, place the ground seeds. Add 2 tablespoons of oligodang for sweetness and a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor, then mix well. If the oligodang is too thick, you can gently warm it in the microwave for about 10 seconds to make it easier to mix.
Step 3
Now, prepare the tortillas. Lay one tortilla flat. Spread the seed mixture from step 2 evenly over one half of the tortilla. It’s important to spread it evenly and not too thickly. Fold the other half of the tortilla over the spread side to create a half-moon shape.
Step 4
Heat a pan over medium-low heat. Place the coated tortilla onto the dry, ungreased pan. Cook, flipping occasionally, until both sides are golden brown and toasted. Be mindful of the heat to prevent burning. You’ll soon smell the wonderfully toasty aroma as the tortilla crisps up.
Step 5
Once nicely baked, remove the sesame crisps from the pan and let them cool slightly. Before they become completely cold, cut them into bite-sized pieces, about 1 cm wide. Listen to the satisfying crunch as they break apart. You can also cut them into longer strips if you prefer.
