Ingredients

  • 1 can (approx. 150g) of tuna
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 bowl (approx. 200g) of cooked rice
  • 1 stalk of green onion
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 pinches of salt

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Finely chop the green onion. Chop both the white and green parts into small pieces. This will add a fresh aroma and flavor to your fried rice.

Step 1

Step 2

Drain the oil from the canned tuna thoroughly. Removing the excess oil will prevent the fried rice from becoming greasy and will enhance the tuna’s natural savory flavor.

Step 2

Step 3

In a bowl, crack the 2 eggs and add the 2 pinches of salt. Whisk the eggs well until fully combined. Heat a pan over medium heat with a tablespoon of cooking oil. Pour in the whisked eggs and scramble them until just cooked through. Break the scrambled eggs into bite-sized pieces and set them aside on a plate.

Step 3

Step 4

Add a little more oil to the same pan if needed, and heat over medium heat. Add the chopped green onions and stir-fry until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Then, add the drained tuna and stir-fry for another minute until heated through.

Step 4

Step 5

Push the ingredients to the side of the pan, creating a small space. Pour the 1 Tbsp of soy sauce into the empty space and let it bubble for a few seconds to caramelize slightly. Then, mix the soy sauce with the tuna and green onions.

Step 5

Step 6

Add the 1 bowl of cooked rice to the pan. Break up any clumps of rice with your spatula and mix well with the tuna and onion mixture. Add the prepared scrambled eggs back into the pan. Stir in the 1/2 Tbsp of oyster sauce and the 1/2 Tbsp of sesame oil. Stir-fry everything together for another 1-2 minutes until well combined and heated through. Your delicious tuna and egg fried rice is now ready to enjoy!
