Essential Ingredients- 1 can Baked Beans (approx. 400g)
- 1/2 Onion
- 2 strips Bacon
- 70g Mozzarella Cheese
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 1 can of baked beans. Open the can and check the contents. You can use it as is without any special pre-treatment.
Step 2
Peel the onion, wash it thoroughly, then dice it into roughly 0.5cm cubes or chop it. It’s better to have some texture rather than chopping it too finely.
Step 3
Cut the bacon into bite-sized pieces, about 1 to 1.5 cm. You can cut them lengthwise or into cubes.
Step 4
Melt 1 Tbsp of butter in a pot over medium heat. Add 1 Tbsp of minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic. Then, reduce the heat to low, add the bacon and onion, and sauté slowly. Cooking until the onion becomes translucent and bacon renders its fat will add more flavor.
Step 5
Once the onion and bacon are sufficiently cooked and softened, add the prepared baked beans and 100g of ketchup. Stir and cook over low heat until all ingredients are well combined. Continue to cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring, until the sauce thickens as the ketchup blends with the baked beans.
Step 6
When the baked bean stew begins to simmer, reduce the heat to the lowest setting. Now, evenly sprinkle 70g of mozzarella cheese over the stew. Cover with a lid or leave as is, and let it simmer gently over low heat until the cheese melts and the stew slightly thickens. Adjust the heat while watching the cheese melt and stretch. It’s best enjoyed immediately while warm.
