- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 3 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean Chili Flakes)

- 1/2 Tbsp Salt (for seasoning adjustment)
- 3 Tbsp Mirin (Rice Wine)
- 2 Tbsp Plum Extract (for enhanced flavor)
- 5 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 3 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean Chili Flakes)
- 3 Tbsp Oligodang (Corn Syrup or Honey, adjust to taste)
- 1/2 Tbsp Salt (for seasoning adjustment)
- 3 Tbsp Mirin (Rice Wine)
- 2 Tbsp Plum Extract (for enhanced flavor)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the delicious seasoning sauce by combining all the sauce ingredients in a bowl and mixing them thoroughly. This sauce is key to the dish’s flavor! Slice the Cheongyang peppers into bite-sized pieces and diagonally slice the green onion. (Tip: If you have an onion on hand, thinly slicing it and adding it to the pot will bring out a wonderful sweetness and texture. You can also add some crown daisy leaves for an extra touch!)
Step 2
Place the thawed cod fillets in the bottom of your pot. Generously spoon the prepared seasoning sauce over the fish. Arrange the sliced Cheongyang peppers and green onions on top. Finally, pour in 1.5 cups of water.
Step 3
Now, place the pot over medium heat to begin the braising process. Gently stir occasionally to prevent the sauce from sticking to the bottom, and let it simmer until the liquid has reduced slightly and the cod is well-coated and infused with the flavorful sauce. (Tip: Cooking over medium-low heat rather than high heat helps the cod stay intact and allows the flavors to meld beautifully.)
Step 4
Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with a pinch of salt if needed. Once the cod is tender and the sauce has thickened to your liking, your delicious braised cod is ready to be served. Enjoy this comforting dish with a side of hot steamed rice!
