Ready to make a quick and tasty morning roll toast?
Main Ingredients- 4 slices of bread
- Generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2-3 Tbsp strawberry jam
- 2-3 Tbsp honey mustard sauce
- 2 eggs
- A little cooking oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
1. First, trim the crusts off the bread slices. Then, use a rolling pin or a bottle to gently press down on the bread, flattening it slightly. This makes the bread softer and easier to roll up tightly.
Step 2
2. On one flattened slice of bread, spread a thin layer of strawberry jam. Be careful not to spread too much, as it might ooze out during cooking. Then, roll the bread up tightly from one end to the other.
Step 3
3. For another slice of flattened bread, spread honey mustard sauce. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheese on top. Roll this up tightly so the cheese melts inside. If you love cheese, feel free to add more!
Step 4
4. In a small bowl, whisk the 2 eggs until well combined. Dip the roll toasts prepared in steps 2 and 3 into the beaten egg mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated on all sides. This will give the outside a golden-brown and crispy texture.
Step 5
5. Heat a non-stick pan over low heat. Add a very small amount of cooking oil and use a paper towel to spread it thinly across the entire surface of the pan. Too much oil can make the roll toast fry rather than bake, so be mindful. Place the egg-coated roll toasts in the pan and, over low heat, gently roll them around to ensure all sides are evenly browned and cooked through. They’re ready when the outside is crispy and the cheese inside is melted!
