Simple Butter Soy Sauce Egg Rice
Super Easy Cooking: Soy Sauce Egg Rice, Butter Egg Rice, Egg Rice
When you don’t have many side dishes, there’s nothing quite like soy sauce egg rice! How can just rice and a fried egg be this delicious? 🙂 A quick and easy meal is solved by drizzling soy sauce and sesame oil and mixing it all up. Frying the egg in a pan with melted butter makes it even more savory and aromatic.
Ingredients- 1 bowl of cooked rice
- 1 egg
- 1 stalk of green onion
- A small amount of butter
- 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
- A pinch of sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Melt a small amount of butter in a pan over low heat. The butter can be added to the rice to mix together, or used to fry the egg. Using butter instead of cooking oil when frying the egg will give it a richer, more savory flavor.
Step 2
Crack one egg into the melted butter and cook it to your desired level of doneness. I prefer a sunny-side-up egg with a runny yolk, as it adds a moistness when mixed with the rice, but you can cook it to your preference.
Step 3
Place 1 bowl of warm rice into a concave bowl.
Step 4
Drizzle 1/2 Tbsp of soy sauce and 1/2 Tbsp of sesame oil over the rice and egg.
Step 5
Finely chop one stalk of green onion and sprinkle it over the top. Crush the sesame seeds lightly with your hands before sprinkling; crushed sesame seeds are more aromatic and flavorful.
