Ramen & Basic Ingredients
- 1 packet ramen noodles
- Water (for boiling ramen)
Golden Ratio Soy Sauce Dressing
- 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Fish Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1 Tbsp Vinegar
- Generous amount of toasted sesame seeds (about 2-3 Tbsp)
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Fish Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1 Tbsp Vinegar
- Generous amount of toasted sesame seeds (about 2-3 Tbsp)
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare to boil the ramen noodles. Fill a pot with plenty of water and bring it to a rolling boil.
Step 2
While the ramen is boiling, let’s make the sauce. In a bowl, combine 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp fish sauce, 1 Tbsp vinegar, 1 Tbsp sesame oil, 1 Tbsp sugar, and 1 Tbsp minced garlic. Add a generous amount of toasted sesame seeds according to your preference (around 2-3 Tbsp). Stir everything well with a spoon until the sugar dissolves and all the ingredients are evenly mixed. This sauce is the key to its amazing umami flavor!
Step 3
If you have crisp vegetables in your refrigerator, prepare them now. For ingredients like bell pepper, cucumber, or onion, julienne about 1/4 of each to add a delightful crunch to your ramen. Make sure to wash and thoroughly dry the vegetables before slicing.
Step 4
Once the water is boiling, add the ramen noodles and cook according to the package directions, or to your desired tenderness. After the ramen is cooked, drain it in a colander and immediately rinse it thoroughly under cold running water. This step is crucial for making the noodles perfectly chewy and firm, which enhances the texture of the bibim ramen.
Step 5
Drain the firm, chewy ramen noodles very well. Transfer them into the bowl containing the delicious soy sauce dressing you prepared earlier. Using chopsticks or tongs, gently mix the noodles with the sauce, ensuring that every strand is coated evenly. This even coating is what makes it so flavorful.
Step 6
If you like, add the julienned bell pepper, cucumber, onion, or pickled radish that you prepared earlier and mix them in. The crispness of the vegetables will add another dimension to the dish.
Step 7
Once everything is well combined, it’s time to enjoy your delicious soy sauce bibim ramen! Serve immediately while it’s still fresh. This is the perfect choice for when you’re craving something satisfying and flavorful.
