Let’s make a rich and delicious tomato spaghetti using a store-bought sauce! This recipe is perfect for a satisfying lunch or dinner.
Ingredients
- Spaghetti for 2 servings
- 1/2 Onion
- 1/4 pack Oyster mushrooms
- 1/4 Green bell pepper
- Pinch of black pepper
- 1 cup Jarred tomato spaghetti sauce
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Today, we’re making a universally loved tomato spaghetti that’s perfect for lunch or dinner. It’s incredibly easy and delicious thanks to using a store-bought sauce.
Step 2
First, prepare the vegetables for the spaghetti. Dice the onion, oyster mushrooms, and green bell pepper into bite-sized pieces. Heat a little oil in a pan, add a pinch of black pepper, and sauté the vegetables until they are about halfway cooked. Lightly cooking the vegetables enhances their sweetness and flavor.
Step 3
Jarred tomato spaghetti sauce is already seasoned perfectly, so there’s no need to add extra spices. Pour 1 cup of the jarred tomato spaghetti sauce directly into the pan with the sautéed vegetables. Stir to combine the vegetables and sauce.
Step 4
Now, it’s time to cook the spaghetti. Boil water with a little salt and cook the spaghetti according to package directions, but remove it about 1 minute early for an al dente texture. Drain the pasta well. Reserve about 2-3 tablespoons of the pasta cooking water; adding this to the sauce will prevent it from becoming too thick and help it coat the noodles beautifully. Add the drained spaghetti to the sauce pan and toss well with tongs or chopsticks until the noodles are evenly coated with the sauce.
Step 5
Once the sauce and noodles are well combined, your delicious tomato spaghetti is ready! While it’s delicious with just the jarred sauce, adding the sautéed vegetables makes it even richer and more professional-looking, just like at a restaurant. Enjoy your meal!
