- Pinch of Toasted Sesame Seeds

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Wash the 3 sheets of cabbage (about 150g) thoroughly and slice them thinly into julienne strips. Place the shredded cabbage into the inner pot of your rice cooker.
Step 2
Peel and thinly julienne the 60g of onion, similar in thickness to the cabbage. Add the shredded onion to the rice cooker pot along with the cabbage.
Step 3
Now, it’s time to season. Add 1 Tbsp of garlic powder, 1 Tbsp of fish sauce (using Korean anchovy fish sauce or tuna extract will enhance the savory flavor), a pinch of black pepper, 1 Tbsp of sesame oil, and 1 pinch of salt to the pot. Gently mix everything together, ensuring the seasonings are evenly distributed throughout the shredded cabbage and onion.
Step 4
Select the ‘Reheat’ function on your rice cooker and let it run for 9 minutes. Once the ‘Reheat’ cycle is complete, set the rice cooker to ‘Keep Warm’ for an additional 5 minutes. This gentle cooking process will ensure the vegetables become tender and moist.
Step 5
After 5 minutes on ‘Keep Warm’, open the lid to check the perfectly steamed cabbage namul. Sprinkle a generous pinch of toasted sesame seeds over the top. Serve as a delicious side dish with your warm rice.
