The Best Side Dish for Kids! 5-Minute Beef and Mushroom Stir-Fry
Today’s recipe is a super simple yet incredibly delicious ‘Beef and Mushroom Stir-Fry’. It’s a perfect side dish for children, and ideal for those busy days when you need a quick and nutritious meal. The savory flavor of the mushrooms combined with the tender beef will have everyone asking for seconds. Let’s get cooking!
Main Ingredients- 100g Beef (thinly sliced for bulgogi or ground beef)
- 3 King Oyster mushrooms or Shiitake mushrooms
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Heat a wide pan over medium heat and melt the 20g of butter. Be careful not to burn the butter, and tilt the pan to coat the surface evenly.
Step 2
Once the butter is fully melted, add the cubed beef (100g) and stir-fry until the surface is golden brown. It’s best to cook over high heat to sear the beef quickly, retaining its juices.
Step 3
When the beef is partially cooked, add the mushrooms (washed and cut into bite-sized pieces, slightly larger than the beef) and stir-fry together. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the mushrooms release their moisture and become tender.
Step 4
Once the mushrooms are tender, add 1/2 Tbsp of oyster sauce. Oyster sauce adds a savory umami depth and helps season the dish.
Step 5
Finally, drizzle in 1 Tbsp of sesame oil and stir gently to combine all ingredients. It’s best to add sesame oil just before turning off the heat to preserve its aroma.
Step 6
Turn off the heat, sprinkle in 1 Tbsp of toasted sesame seeds for a nutty flavor, and give it a final mix. Sesame seeds add a nice texture and make the dish look more appealing.
Step 7
Your delicious Beef and Mushroom Stir-Fry is ready! Serve it over warm rice or enjoy it as a standalone side dish.
