Dalgona Base Ingredients

  • 1.5 tsp Instant coffee granules
  • 1 tsp Hot water
  • 1 tsp Hazelnut syrup

Other Ingredients

  • Ice cubes, as needed
  • 90ml Milk

Cooking Instructions

First, in a cup or bowl for the Dalgona base, add 1.5 teaspoons of instant coffee granules. If you prefer a stronger coffee flavor, you can slightly increase the amount.

Next, pour 1 teaspoon of hot water over the coffee granules. Be mindful of the water amount; too much can make whipping difficult.

Now, add 1 teaspoon of hazelnut syrup to enhance the flavor. You can substitute with regular sugar syrup or vanilla syrup, but hazelnut syrup really complements the rich taste of Dalgona coffee.

It’s time to mix these ingredients well. Using a mini electric whisk or a hand mixer will make whipping much easier and faster. If you don’t have an electric whisk, you’ll need to stir vigorously with a fork or a whisk for a longer period. Whip energetically for about 5-10 minutes, until the coffee mixture turns a light caramel brown and forms stiff peaks.

Your Dalgona base is ready when it becomes fluffy and holds its shape. If you lift a bit with a spoon, it should maintain its form.

Prepare a nice glass or mug for your drink. Fill the glass generously with ice cubes. The ice will keep your coffee cold and add to the refreshing visual appeal.

Slowly pour 90ml of fresh milk over the ice. Pouring the milk gently down the side of the glass will help create beautiful layers when you add the Dalgona topping later.
