It’s pan-fried until golden brown, though the photos might not fully capture its delightful crispness. Let’s create a truly special dish!
Ingredients- 1 cup Snow crab paste (finely minced)
- 1 stalk Green onion or Scallion (thinly sliced)
- 1/3 Onion (finely diced)
- 1/4 Carrot (finely diced)
- Generous amount of Roasted seaweed flakes (gim)
Seasoning- 1 Tbsp Sesame oil
- A pinch of Sesame seeds (for garnish)
- 1 Tbsp Sesame oil
- A pinch of Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the aromatics for your fried rice: finely chop the green onion, onion, and carrot. Heat a pan over medium-low heat. Add the chopped green onion and stir-fry until fragrant, creating a flavorful green onion oil. This oil base is key to developing a deeper flavor in your fried rice.

Step 2
Once the green onion is aromatic, add the diced carrots and onions to the pan. Sauté them together until the vegetables become slightly translucent and tender. Maintain medium heat, ensuring the vegetables don’t burn.

Step 3
Now, it’s time to add the star ingredient: the snow crab paste. Add the minced crab paste to the pan with the vegetables. Stir-fry them together, allowing the crab’s rich flavor to meld with the vegetables and cook down slightly, concentrating its essence. Cook for about 2-3 minutes.

Step 4
Add cooked rice to the pan with the crab paste and vegetable mixture. Use a spatula to gently break up any clumps of rice, ensuring the crab paste coats every grain evenly. Toss and stir-fry until well combined. (If you are adding seaweed flakes at this stage, mix them in with the rice now.)

Step 5
Spread the fried rice thinly and evenly across the pan. Increase the heat to medium-high and cook, stirring occasionally, until the rice is slightly golden brown and toasted. This process helps to dry out the rice and develop a delicious crispy texture and nutty aroma. Stir-fry for about 1-2 minutes, being careful not to burn it.

Step 6
Transfer the beautifully fried rice to a serving plate. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of sesame oil for extra fragrance and sprinkle generously with sesame seeds. Your delicious and elegant Snow Crab Paste Fried Rice is now ready to be enjoyed!
