SNS Viral Hit! Easy Feta Cheese Tomato Pasta
Make the Trendy & Delicious Feta Cheese Pasta from Social Media at Home
The Feta Cheese Pasta that took social media by storm! While the original recipe involves baking all ingredients in the oven for about 30 minutes, I’ve recreated it using a frying pan for ease. This pasta sauce offers a delightful balance: the tanginess of tomatoes, the unique aroma of basil, and a creamy yet rich texture from the feta cheese. It’s light yet incredibly satisfying. Experience the wonderful, decadent texture that gets even better with every bite!
Ingredients- Feta cheese 100g (block or crumbled)
- Cherry tomatoes 200g
- Fresh basil 20g (leaves or chopped)
- Olive oil 20g (approx. 2 Tbsp)
- Minced garlic 1 Tbsp
- Pasta 100g (Spaghetti recommended)
- Parsley flakes a pinch (for garnish)
- Black pepper a pinch
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thoroughly wash the cherry tomatoes and pat them dry. Remove any stems. Gently rinse the fresh basil leaves and shake off excess water. Prepare 100g of feta cheese. You can use it as a block or pre-cut it into bite-sized pieces.
Step 2
Get ready to cook the pasta. While short pasta shapes are often used for this dish, I’ve opted for standard spaghetti today based on personal preference. Bring a large pot of generously salted water to a rolling boil. Cook the spaghetti according to package directions, but drain it about 1 minute less than ‘al dente’. Reserve about 1 cup of the pasta cooking water before draining.
Step 3
Heat about 20g (approx. 2 tablespoons) of olive oil in a wide pan or skillet over medium heat. Add the cherry tomatoes and cook, stirring occasionally with a chopstick or spatula, until they begin to soften and blister.
Step 4
As the cherry tomatoes start to burst, add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and the 100g block of feta cheese (or pieces) on top of the tomatoes. Sprinkle in a pinch of black pepper and parsley flakes, then continue to cook.
Step 5
Reduce the heat to medium-low. Allow the tomatoes to cook down until they are very soft and mushy. Once the tomatoes are tender, use a spatula or fork to mash them together with the feta cheese. Stir and combine until you achieve a thick, creamy sauce consistency.
Step 6
Once the feta cheese and tomatoes have melded into a smooth, rich sauce, add the drained spaghetti directly into the pan. Gently toss the pasta with the sauce using your spatula, ensuring every strand is coated. If the sauce seems too thick, gradually add some of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
Step 7
Finally, add the roughly chopped fresh basil leaves. Toss gently one more time to incorporate the basil and release its fresh aroma. Turn off the heat immediately. The key is to preserve the vibrant, fresh flavor of the basil.
Step 8
And there you have it – your incredibly easy, creamy Feta Cheese Tomato Pasta, straight from social media! It’s not only visually appealing but also tastes absolutely divine, making it perfect for special occasions or when you want to impress guests. Enjoy your delicious meal!
