Main Ingredients

  • 1/8 head of cabbage (about 150g)
  • 1 can of tuna (about 150g, drained)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup pancake mix (about 100g)
  • 1/2 cup water (about 100ml)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare 1/8 of a cabbage head. Wash the cabbage thoroughly and shred it as thinly and finely as possible. Shredding it thinly ensures a tender texture and helps it meld well with other ingredients when cooked.

Step 1

Step 2

Prepare one can of tuna. Drain the tuna from the can, then place it in a sieve or press it with paper towels to remove as much oil as possible. Excess oil can make the pancake greasy.

Step 2

Step 3

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and drained tuna. Crack in 2 eggs, add 1 cup of pancake mix and 1/2 cup of water. You can add a pinch of black pepper for extra flavor if you like. Mix everything thoroughly with a spatula or spoon until well combined, forming a batter. If the batter is too thick, add a little more water; if it’s too thin, add more pancake mix to reach the desired consistency.

Step 3

Step 4

Heat a pan over medium heat and add a generous amount of cooking oil. Ladle about one portion of the batter onto the pan and spread it thinly. Avoid making the pancakes too thick, as they might not cook through properly. Aim for a thin, round shape. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Check that the edges are slightly browned and the center is cooked.

Step 4

Step 5

Transfer the cooked cabbage pancake to a plate. Finally, drizzle mayonnaise in a zigzag pattern over the pancake according to your preference, and then generously top with sweet and savory teriyaki sauce. Your delicious Cabbage and Tuna Pancake is ready! It tastes best when served warm.
