  • 2 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Cheongju (rice wine for cooking)
  • 2 Tbsp Maesilcheong (plum syrup)
  • 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • 1 Tbsp Corn Syrup (or Oligodang)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare 240g of dried shredded squids (Jinmichae). This is roughly equivalent to 2-3 packs usually sold at supermarkets. Cut the Jinmichae into bite-sized pieces, about 5-7cm long. In a bowl, add 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise to the cut Jinmichae and mix gently with your hands. Pre-mixing with mayonnaise helps prevent the Jinmichae from becoming tough and dry during cooking, ensuring a softer and more moist texture.
