Soy Sauce and Egg Fried Rice
A Quick and Easy Breakfast Recipe: Soy Sauce Egg Fried Rice for One
Don’t know what to eat on a busy morning? Make this simple dish! This soy sauce egg fried rice is perfect for a quick, satisfying meal.
Ingredients- A small amount of chopped green onion
- 2 tsp Soy Sauce
- 1 bowl of Rice
- 1 Egg
- Butter or Mayonnaise to taste
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Heat about 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped green onions and sauté until fragrant, creating ‘green onion oil’. This step adds a wonderful aroma and depth of flavor to your fried rice.
Step 2
Push the green onions to one side of the pan. Crack the egg into the empty space. Stir and scramble the egg until it’s almost cooked. Then, gently mix the scrambled egg with the green onions.
Step 3
Pour 2 teaspoons of soy sauce around the edges of the pan. Let it sizzle and caramelize slightly for about 10 seconds. This ‘burning’ of the soy sauce intensifies its flavor and aroma. Be careful not to let it burn completely.
Step 4
Reduce the heat to low and stir everything together briefly to allow the soy sauce to coat the ingredients.
Step 5
Add 1 bowl of rice to the pan. Turn off the heat completely. Use the residual heat of the pan and a spatula to break up the rice and mix it thoroughly with the soy sauce and egg mixture. Ensure each grain of rice is coated.
Step 6
Continue mixing and ‘frying’ the rice off the heat until it’s well combined and heated through, with a glossy finish.
Step 7
Once thoroughly mixed and heated, your delicious fried rice is ready!
Step 8
Transfer the fried rice to a serving bowl. For an extra touch of richness and flavor, you can add a small pat of butter or a drizzle of mayonnaise on top, according to your preference. Enjoy your quick and tasty meal!
