Key Ingredients

  • 3 packs of P Brand Jjamppong Ramen
  • 1 bunch of Oyster Mushrooms (approx. 150g)
  • 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 7 slices of Pork Bossam (leftovers)
  • Fresh Napa Cabbage (enough to fill a ramen bowl)
  • 10 Frozen Shrimp (thawed)
  • 1 Onion (medium size)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, check the cooking time for your P Brand Jjamppong Ramen. The noodles typically need to be boiled for 5 minutes, so it’s best to prepare all your ingredients beforehand to make the cooking process smoother and more delicious. Trim the tough ends off the oyster mushrooms and separate them into strands. Rinse and thaw the shrimp. Slice the onion thinly and chop the napa cabbage into bite-sized pieces. Cut the leftover bossam into manageable pieces.

Step 1

Step 2

To build a rich and deep flavor base, add 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil to a pot or deep pan. Over medium-low heat, sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant, creating a garlic-infused oil. Be careful not to burn the garlic; reduce the heat slightly if necessary.

Step 2

Step 3

Once the garlic oil is ready, add the sliced onions to the pan. Turn the heat up to high and stir-fry the onions until they become translucent and release their sweet aroma. Sautéing the onions well will significantly enhance the broth’s depth.

Step 3

Step 4

Now, pour 1.5 liters (about 6 cups) of water into the pot with the sautéed onions and garlic oil. Once the water comes to a boil, add the dry vegetable mix and liquid soup base from the ramen and stir well to dissolve. Then, add the generously chopped napa cabbage and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat. Instead of immediately adding the noodles, let the broth simmer for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld beautifully.

Step 4

Step 5

After the broth has simmered for a full 5 minutes, it’s time to add the P Brand Jjamppong Ramen noodles. Gently stir the noodles to prevent them from sticking together.

Step 5

Step 6

About 2 minutes after adding the noodles, introduce the prepared pork bossam slices into the boiling broth. This will warm the bossam through and enrich the soup’s flavor even further.

Step 6

Step 7

At the 3-minute mark after adding the noodles, add the thawed shrimp. Shrimp cook very quickly, so avoid overcooking them to maintain their succulent texture.

Step 7

Step 8

Finally, 4 minutes after adding the noodles, toss in the prepared oyster mushrooms. The mushrooms will absorb the flavorful broth, becoming even more delicious.

Step 8

Step 9

After boiling for about 30 seconds more with the mushrooms added, turn off the heat immediately. Your delicious Jjamppong Ramen is ready! Ladle it into bowls and enjoy this hearty meal. For an extra touch, you can garnish with a raw egg yolk or some chopped green onions.
