Spicy and Flavorful Seafood Ramen Recipe
Super Quick Seafood Ramen Using Frozen Seafood Mix
Today, I’m sharing a go-to late-night snack my husband and I often make using a frozen seafood mix: seafood ramen! Simply adding the frozen seafood mix from your freezer brings out a taste reminiscent of eating ramen by the sea. It’s perfect as a side dish with soju or as a light meal when you’re feeling peckish late at night! The rich, briny flavor will transport you straight to a seaside eatery.
Ingredients- 1 packet of ramen (your favorite type)
- 200g frozen seafood mix (shrimp, squid, clams, etc.)
- 1/2 stalk of green onion, finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp chili oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a pot, combine 1 tablespoon of chili oil, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, and the finely chopped green onions. Stir-fry over high heat until the green onions are fragrant and the garlic turns lightly golden brown, about 1 minute. This step infuses the oil with the aromatic flavors of the aromatics, enhancing the depth of the ramen broth.
Step 2
Once the green onions and garlic are nicely sautéed, pour in 500ml of water. Bring the water to a boil, then add the frozen seafood mix and about 2/3 of the ramen’s soup base packet. Stir well to dissolve the powder. (You can adjust the amount of soup base to your preference.) Adding the soup base now allows the flavors to meld with the seafood as it cooks, creating a richer broth.
Step 3
When the broth is vigorously boiling, add the ramen noodles and the dried vegetable packet. Cook for an additional 4 minutes, or until the noodles are perfectly chewy and cooked through. Your delicious seafood ramen is now ready! Keep an eye on the noodles to ensure they reach your desired tenderness. A little patience by the stove yields a satisfying bowl of seafood ramen.
